Common requests
Delete my account and data
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete. The account is hard-deleted after a 30-day grace window. If you cannot get into the app, email us from the address on the account and we will do it for you.
Export my data
Settings → Export. We email you a signed JSON dump of your sessions, transcripts and scores.
Billing and refunds
Subscriptions bought on iPhone are managed by Apple — cancel or request a refund through your App Store account. We cannot issue Apple refunds on your behalf, but email us if something has gone wrong and we will help you sort it out.
The app cannot hear me
Check that ImprovTalk has microphone permission in your phone’s system settings, and that no other app is holding the microphone. Sessions need a working internet connection — the conversation runs in real time.
Questions we get a lot
Do I actually have to speak?
Yes — that is the entire point. You hold a button and talk, and it talks back in real time. Reading about conversation has never made anyone better at it; reps do. There is no typing mode.
What does it score me on?
A Charisma Score built from three pillars — Fluency (40%), Confidence (35%) and Improvisation (25%) — graded against a fixed rubric, then blended with your measured delivery, which counts for a quarter of the total. The delivery half comes straight out of the audio; the rubric half is a judgement made the same way every time.
Is the feedback just an AI opinion?
The delivery half is measurement, not opinion. Pace, pauses, filler count, pitch and volume steadiness come from acoustic analysis of the recording. Every score opens up to show the raw inputs behind it, so you can disagree with it on the evidence.
What happens to my recordings?
Your voice is used to score the session and nothing else. The transcript and scores stay until you delete them, and deleting your account removes them. No contacts, calendar, photos or location are collected, and there are no advertising SDKs in the app. The privacy policy has the detail.
What does it cost?
It is free to start, with three AI conversations a week, Learn, Stats and History. Pro is $25 a week or $69 a month and adds live practice with thirty conversations a week. Max is $49 a week or $129 a month: unlimited conversations, Real Talk, Custom Practice, and the most capable voice model. Billed weekly or monthly by Apple; cancel any time.
